UOWoW Writeup/FAQ/Information... - Posted: 06-26-2009
Basically I am making a thread to compile a list of what we currently need, materials for items we want, where to go to get gear, what we are working towards, etc. I will explain stuff because some people do not know what things currently are on this server. If you have any questions you want answered, or know of something you think I should add, let me know. Hopefully this thread will help people find stuff to do when we do not have a lot online. And this will hopefully answer peoples questions who are considering playing.
This is a work in progress.
1. Gear
Forceful Gear
We need to mass produce Forceful gear so we can have plenty banked and ready to go if anyone is killed, this also ensures our gear is top of the line so we can dominate. Forceful gear is currently the best gear on the server, Forceful weapons cannot be crafted yet, but will be in the game and able to be crafted within the week. Forceful armor can be crafted right now, I will give a material list, follow by a breakdown and the skills needed to get the materials.
Forceful Armor:
Materials:
Forceful Platemail: 10x Dark Iron Bars, 10x Greater Astral Essences, 10x Arthas' Tears, 10x Armor Vellum 2, 1x Elixir of Brute Force.
Forceful Leather: 10x Thick Wolfhides, 10x Greater Astral Essences, 10x Arthas' Tears, 10x Armor Vellum 2, 1x Elixir of Brute Force.
Forceful Mail: 10x Green Dragonscales, 10x Greater Astral Essences, 10x Arthas' Tears, 10x Armor Vellum 2, 1x Elixir of Brute Force.
Forceful Cloth: 10x Felcloth, 10x Greater Astral Essences, 10x Arthas' Tears, 10x Armor Vellum 2, 1x Elixir of Brute Force.
Materials breakdown:
Dark Iron Bars (Mined with Mining, Searing Gorge has many veins)
Thick Wolfhides (Skinned with Skinning from the wolves in Hinterlands)
Green Dragonscales (Skinned from dragons in Sunken Temple)
Felcloth (Drops from Demons in Felwood, and other places)
Greater Astral Essences (Disenchanted from level 25-35ish green items)
Arthas' Tears (Requires 220 Herbalism, Western and Eastern Plaguelands good zone for these)
Armor Vellum 2 (Created with Inscription, need Blindweed, Arthas' Tears, Firebloom, Purple Lotus, Gromsblood, Ghost Mushrooms, or Sungrass to create the needed ink)
Elixir of Brute Force (Requires Alchemy, need Gromsblood and Plaguebloom to create these)
Forceful Weapons:
Materials:
Forceful Two-Handed Weapons: 10x Massive Mojo, 5x Delirium Ore, 5x Arxaxium Ore.
Forceful Staff: 10x Massive Mojo, 5x Arxaxium Ore
Materials breakdown:
Coming Soon
2. Current Boss Mobs:
Note: These areas are strong PvP areas, expect to fight and maybe die as lots of other people frequent these areas to keep their gear and weapon flow moving.
Molten Core:
This zone currently contains many bosses similar to those in Silithus. They drop Deadly weapons as well as armor. Ragnaros has now also been added to this dungeon, though we have not killed him yet -- I will update this as soon as we kill him.
Deadwind Pass:
This zone contains about 6-8 raid bosses that can be duo'd, or solo'd (ask us about this) which drop around 2,500 gold per kill as well as a mix of Deadly Gladiator Armor, each one drops a different class set, the drops appear to be fairly random. One boss drops a lot of Rogue/Druid gear, another drops a lot of cloaks, rings, and necks, another drops a lot of Pally/Warrior gear, etc. I have not mapped which ones drop exactly what, they are all around the inside of this zone.
Silithus:
This zone contains many of the big boys, including Poontang (fairly easy mob, can be duo'd and probably solo'd, once again ask). There are also Naxxaramas bosses in this zone. The Naxx bosses drop the same loot they drop in "normal mode" Naxx on a retail server. The Naxx bosses here are Noth, Grobbulus, Thaddius, and Gluth. Another set of bosses in this zone are the ones named "Poontang" they all look like Illidan, and it appears they all mostly just drop 3-5 pieces of Deadly Gladiator Armor, they might drop some of the pieces we have trouble finding, once again, duoable/soloable. The other mobs in this zone are Archavon (we have not killed him as he has 3.5 million hp, and Hogger, Vancleef, and a Mechgineer guy (possibly others). The latter guys (Hogger, Vancleef, etc) drop the Deadly Gladiator Weapons which we are in need of as these, we have not mapped which ones drop exactly what -- we will work on that with time. We need to get many shields and 2h weps, but few 1h weps and healing weapons. These bosses are tougher than others, they should be fought with three or more, can be duo'd but its slow, can possibly be solo'd. The mobs in this zone are spread out, with the Deadly Gladiator Weapon mobs to the South mostly, Naxx to the North, and Poontang is spread throughout the entire zone.
Azshara:
This zone is basically a replica of Deadwind Pass, same type of mobs, similar loot, no weapons. Sapphiron is in this zone, but we have not killed him yet so we are not 100% on what he drops, we assume he drops his "normal" loot table drops from retail. The mobs in this zone are located up on the North East peninsula of Azshara. Duoable/Soloable, as I said they follow the same rules as the Deadwind Pass mobs.
Winterspring:
Currently Winterspring houses the best mobs are items. There are three drakes, followed by Kel'Thuzad. The three drakes are duoable, but not soloable, prefered method is a minimum of three. One drake drops Deadly Gladiator Weapons, another drops Naxx weapons, and a third is randomized to drop certain Naxx loot. Kel'Thuzad follows behind these three, we have yet to fight him, but he is currently the toughest fight in the game, not sure how many people we would need. I would guess a minimum of three. These mobs are located towards the South in Mazthoril Cave (the cave with all the Cobalt Drakes and such).
3. Other Places with Mobs:
Most instances throughout the world are populated, and you can do in and kill mobs there. They are NOT instanced though, other people can enter that dungeon and kill you.
Blasted Lands: Far to the South in The Tainted Scar are level 70ish mobs, these mobs drop level 70 Burning Crusade Epics.
Searing Gorge: In the caves below are mobs from the Burning Crusade who are around levels 60-65, they drop blue gear from Burning Crusade.
Icecrown: Outside on the ramparts of the Citadel are some level 75-78 bosses that drop blue gear from Wrath of the Lich King.
4. Classes:
There are no faction restrictions on this server. A person may play either Horde or Alliance and be in the same guild, group, etc. with people of the opposing faction. Not all classes are working as well as others additionally. Some classes have more bugs that are in the process of being worked out -- while other classes are much more complete. I will attempt to build a decent overview of each class and how buggy each one is currently.
5. Guild Houses and Siegeable Cities:
Guild House: Yes, guild houses do exist. They function similar to a city in UO. Only people within the guild can get through the door and get access, and there are a number of vendors and other items that may be accessed from within this guild house. Basically with a guild house, there is not nearly as much of a need to goto regular cities. You may also place this house almost anywhere in the world, making it easier to see what is going on in certain zones. We are currently saving up for the 300,000 gold guild house. Any money that anyone would like to donate may be placed in the guild bank.
Siegeable Cities: Within the game is a siege system. The siege system is broken down into tiers in the following order: Mines, Minor Cities, Major Cities, Capitol Cities. There are timers are each of these cities before they can become siegeable again after they have been captured, and each tier serves a different purpose. Mines are on 1 hour timer, Minor Cities are on a 1 day timer, Major cities are on a 4 day timer, and Capitols are on a 1 week timer. The way capturing these cities works, is there is a Gatekeeper, and boss mob, as well as a mass of guards. To capture a city is must be attackable and capturable. You kill your way through the guards until you reach the Gatekeeper, kill the Gatekeeper to open the gate to get to the boss. Kill the boss, and the city if yours. But fully expect people to come in and attempt to defend their cities. This is how Minor Cities and Mines work. Major Cities and Capitols require that you place a bane on a city before you attack it. Much like how siege went in Shadowbane. Details are still being worked through in sieging, but is is definately fun and well worth it.
6. Questions:
1. What is there to do when there are not very many people online in the guild?
Answer: Farm any of the above materials, or goto Orgrimmar and practive your PvP -- Orgrimmar is the only zone in the game where you can fight and will not drop an item upon death.
2. What happens if I die?
Answer: You die, just like in WoW. Your ghost will spawn at the nearest graveyard and you must run back to your corpse. You may, or may not, drop a few items when you die. These items include ANYTHING you have on you, except for a few minor exceptions. There are runebook you can purchase to hold runes, and your gold on you, are two things that will not drop.
3. Runes and runebooks?
Answer: Yes, there are runes and runebooks, much like in UO. With these runes and runebook you can recall to areas of the world just like in UO. You can even cast a gate spell and gate your friends to a place that they do not have a rune to.
4. How hard is it to level? Is it like the usual WoW grind?
Answer: No, not at all. XP is bumped up by 20x. You do not quest, you just grind. On top of this, Tyr and I can, and are willing, to power level people. Someone can be powerleveled from level 10, to 80 in just a few hours.

You are just missing a few bosses, anub in silithus, but minor random shit. Class wise is another thing to look at. While its fun to play whatever you want in retail, not all the classes are fixed here just yet. Avoid DKs for the most part, they are good, but there are more viable classes right now. Rogues are good, but we do not have a strong bank of weapons for them. Warriors, Paladins, Warlocks are all VERY solid characters. Another paladin would be a great addition if anyone wants to roll one. Basically, the classes I would like to see people play and/or test out right now are:
Hunter: 1-2 at least. I plan on rolling one in the next week or so to test it out. They recently patched them and fixed a lot of their skills as well as pets. This could be a solid addition for people
Priest: I haven't heard much of anything about them, so I do not know. We need a few solid healers if anyone is willing to play one
Paladins: Most common class on the server. Overall, they are solid in all aspects. Most of their spells work, very easy to gear, and all specs are ridiculously good right now.
Druids: Avoid feral at all costs. I do believe, from what I have heard, that most of the tree is broken. Balance is a common spec on here and their healing is near untouchable.
Warlocks: Very strong character on here as well. Most/all spells and talents work. Pets are a little buggy, but I believe this week they are working on all class pets.
Warriors: Not much to say. Very solid, most things work, easy to gear for us right now.
Shaman: Another class I don't know much about because not many people play them, but if they are working good, we could use a resto/elemental for sure. We can gear a few out right now pretty easily.
Rogue: very common class just due to the ganking measure of the server. We can't gear out too many as far as weapons go, but if people get on and start playing, I am sure that will soon change.
Mage: Any input here is welcome. I hardly ever see mages played at all, but if they work solid, it will be a good addition for sieges and pvp.
Also, if you are in need of powerlevelling, I will definitely help. I have a 3 piece forceful armored paladin that just destroys all of icecrown in a matter of seconds. Just ask me if you are online and I will help you

My mage works for the most part (never played a high level mage in retail though...so bear with me). Slow does work...blizzard does not. I have 450 Tailoring and would like to make bags for everyone so send cloth to Splurb and I will supply you with all the bags you need. As I farm more cloth I will make bags and stick them in the bank for people also.
Rel --Get on now!

Forceful Weapons are in. I'll get a mats list tonight from Tyr, we will try and see if we can make any. I think the mats for them are going to require ppl to capture mines. They can be taken once an hour, so as long as we have ppl on for a few hours a day we can get some mats rolling in.
